An easy way to remember what each of the rays do is this - long rays go further into the skin, so it's UVA for Ageing and shorter rays mostly affect the surface of the skin, so that's UVB for Burning. UV rays damage the skin in a few ways including ageing, burning and the risk of skin cancer down the road. EU law protects us from bad sunscreens, so having an SPF (UVB protection) and then UVA protection (this can be marked in stars, a PA rating or simply an encircled UVA stamp on the bottle?) is what to look for. If that thing is a decent broad-spectrum sun protection complex from UVA and UVB, then it's a good thing you can find it in both, it's probably the rest of the formula's ingredients that make one more pricey than the other. There is always the cheaper vs expensive rumour, that what's in a €40 buy is exactly the same as what's in a €3 sunscreen from a supermarket. There are so many myths and mistruths about sunscreen.
